The next Lit Lit will be Friday, August 5 from 7 PM-9 PM. Please note we are switching to Zoom this month because of the Omicron BA 5 variant. For Zoom info, please email Donna at

We also have a featured reader for August — the exciting novelist Jill Dearman, who will read from her new novel Jazzed, a gender-swapped take on the infamous Leopold and Loeb murder which has been said to combine “the eroticism of Highsmith and the intensity of Ellroy” and been called “wildly entertaining” by Kirkus.

Our advance readers list is currently full. But you can still have a chance of reading by arriving at 7and signing up in the chat on Zoom 🙂

Introducing Lit Lit — a monthly literary open mic series in Beacon, NY. We meet the first Friday of every month at the Howland Cultural Center.

Lit Lit is all about welcoming writers from every walk of life and every genre, to share their own writing of up to 5 minutes in length. We love you and we want to hear what you’ve been working on.

Wine, beer, soft drinks and snacks will be available for donation. Proof of vaccine is required at the door.

Come meet the other writers and readers in Beacon! We wanna see you there 😄
