I’ve been teaching writing classes for 25 years, and I’ve been a professional writer for over 30. I have a BA in Literature from Yale University and was awarded an Andrew D. White Fellowship in Comparative Literature by Cornell University.
For many years, I have also been a book critic, for publications ranging from the New York Times Book Review to The Nation, Salon, Kirkus, and the Village Voice. I’ve served as a judge for three book awards.
Students tell me my teaching is as gentle as it is effective, and I like working with everyone from beginners to very published authors. I am happy to work with you to create a plan that meets your budget and your needs.
